Zakat

We don't like things to be unclean, and so we throw away adulterated food and wash filthy clothes. But what if there is filth in the very source of these things. We consume it every day, and feed it our spouses and children. How? By not paying zakah on our wealth, we make everything it touches filthy. Why don't we pay it? Is it because our wealth will diminish? We can't eat a fruit without peeling away its rind, nor can we cook fish without scraping off the scales. It does seem that paying zakah decreases our wealth, but the truth is just the opposite: our wealth actually increases by paying zakah. This has been said by the Creator of wealth, its true Owner and its Magnificent Giver: Allah. Shaytan makes us fear poverty, saying, "Save wealth to make your future secure." Allah gives us promise of bounty. You will get back what you give, multiplied many times. This is true freedom - from poverty, miserliness and the shackles of wealth. This is just a small booklet on zakah.
