Marla, a 27-year old good girl, is shattered by divorce. Driven by greed, she deals drugs, nearly kills her American cocaine-dependent husband and murders her business partner, before she meets her own just deserts. Her covert actions under the guise of "eager immigrant" bring out Marla's innate ability to sense impending danger. Making her own choices Marla overcomes obstacles, finds her own voice, stands on her own feet and is able to accept the possibility of the new love of Sebastian.
