You Are the Boss of Your Body

This book is to warn children about strangers and to explain to them about privacy. It also touches on the subject of sexual abuse and what they can do in each situation to empower themselves. As a survivor of child sexual abuse, I wrote this book as a way to teach my grandchildren, (ages 2 and over) they can say no. I want them to have information that wasn't available to me. They have the right to say no, scream, bite, and kick, whatever it takes to remove themselves from the presence of a predator. Whether it's a stranger or someone they know, they can say no. The next step is to tell until someone believes them. This book is a serious project to me. It isn't scary, but informative. I want it to be a teaching tool and a way to open discussion. I realize it can be a sensitive subject to approach a child with. I was molested at age 3 by one uncle and a few years later by another. I didn't know what to do. I finally told the wrong person and regretted telling. I didn't tell anyone else. I don't want another child to have to bare that burden.
