Ye Are Gods: Exploring the Biblical Narrative of the Sons of God

I said, "You are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High. But you shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes." (Psalm 82:6-7 - NKJV).

This sentiment was echoed by Asaph in 1100 B.C., building on Old Testament theology dating all the way back to creation. It was repeated by Jesus in John 10:34 in A.D. 350. This is the conversation Christianity has avoided having for centuries. But what does it really mean? Is there a divine aspect to humanity by virtue of creation? Did God interject His own nature inside His prized creation? And if this is true, what does it mean for humanity? What is the end game?
