Winds of Desire

Love, today, almost sounds like a trope.

I could park it in some lazy corner of my heart. Where it wouldn't need a lot of watering and sunshine to stay alive. I could wear love, once in a while- when I am in the mood for it. More so on weekends or holidays or socials. On other days, I have mightier things, such as attitude and perseverance, resting on my purposeful shoulders.

Where is the time for love?

I argue. Endlessly.

But the faint voice inside my head reminds me, once in a while.

You don't need the kind of love that had a thousand ships sailing. Or the kind of love where five men betrothed one woman. All you need is the kind of love, that could simply sit by your side, holding your pain gently, while you continue to heal. Winds of Desire is a short collection of love poems through the lens of the author's love life. In the end it's all about love.

Call it old-fashioned, run-of-the-mill, or outdated, to even speak about love, in the day and age we now live in. But since the inception of time, if there is one thing that could nurture and destroy in equal measure, it has always been love. This book is all about love. The journey through finding and keeping love. Explained in short, spurts of emotion that has gripped the author's heart at every stage of love. Love- if not more- has four distinct stages. You will see them now if you haven't already. You will also be able to make sense of why we love the way we do. We often glide into it, unconsciously. And even before we know we are in love; love has swept us off our feet. Staying in love is a choice. A big, bold choice. Sometimes it can even be a struggle.

The umpteen shiny new objects buzzing in our ears every nano-second, vying for our attention today is insane. How does one even know when love is standing quietly at a fireside waiting for us to acknowledge- while our fingers are busy exploring the window to the fist-sized world we have created for ourselves. Living in our own solo-verses.
