Beskrivelse
Time is running out As the world's clocks move swiftly onward, the action surges from the office of President Harry Truman to KGB headquarters in Moscow, and on to a desolate Texas village where a one-eyed, beer-swilling billy goat serves as mayor--and dead flys are used as poker chips. Among the characters caught up in this whirlwind are two highly decorated army bomber pilots, a hard-drinking, tough-talking female war correspondent--and a Yale-educated Mexican bandit who glues on a false mustache each morning in order to maintain his machisimo. As the story shifts from scene to scene, there is a hijacking, a plane crash, a murder, an attempted kidnapping, top level duplicity, and political blackmailing on the grandest scale. The ironic ending to this fast-paced adventure strongly suggests that perhaps sometimes things are not as they seem to be.
