En vidunderlig bog om porcelænets historie og teknik med mange forbindelser til europærisk historie og politik. Hvis du kan lide Bill Bryson og hans fortælleteknik er denne bog måske også noget for dig. Til tider føles det som om bogen vil gabe over lidt for meget, men det er tydeligt at Edmund de Waal ved hvad han skriver om - og han skriver med passion. En god bog til et par aftener på sofaen.
