Where Wisdom Comes From

Jim Schell is an 83-year-old patron-of-all-things-possible who refuses to slow down. He's also a serial entrepreneur, author of a dozen books, mentor of dozens, starter and fixer of businesses and nonprofits, and an insatiable connector of people. He lives to stay busy.



Jim's fascinated by the stories that happen to us all, and, most of all, by the wisdom that results from those stories. With 83 years of observing people under his belt, what could he do but assemble this collection of everyday stories; stories that led to the wisdom he shares with his readers.



Where Wisdom Comes From is divided into four Parts, Growing Up, Grown Up, Growing Old, and Looking Back. Examples of the stories nestled within those Parts include...



Growing up: Young Jim learns from his mom the meaning of a swear word he heard in school. There's wisdom in her response.

Grown up: Dad Jim and his youngest son attend the movie ET. Jim sniffles and tears up when ET's heart light flickers and goes out. His son then teaches him a lesson in life.

Growing Old: Husband Jim's been married for 60 years and counting; he shares the single most important lesson he's learned about how to make a marriage work. Or not.

Looking Back: Jim shares the number one lesson he learned from each decade of his life. He invites his readers to do the same.
