West Africa Nationalism and Reconstruction

Since the beginning of the slave trade, followed by colonisation and apartheid, African nationalism has been struggling to combat imperialism, strengthen African autonomy and independence and consequently promote sustainable development on the continent. However, after more than five decades of independence, sustainable reconstruction has not been in line with the aspiration of the African people. What is the essence of Nationalism and reconstruction in contemporary Africa in the context of globalisation?
