A man with no memories is processed and branded as prisoner WR-3122 and warned of corrective action if he breaks the rules of Affinity, a prison built to save lost souls from going to Hell.

The Warden, the creator and leader of all bots, controls the narrative of what has become of the outside world. Apparently, they exist in the New Age, a time of relative peace after the second coming of Christ.

When a mishap at worship results in a bloody visit to the medical bay, WR-3122 and his assigned Prisoner Bot, "PB" for short, realize they may be malfunctioning in their own ways, and that Affinity is more than it seems.
