From being the Head Football Coach at the acclaimed, St. Augustine High School, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to being a position coach at Millsaps College, Tulane University, Memphis University, The University of Tennessee, and currently, Florida State University, it can never be said that Coach David "Yac" Johnson, hasn't paid his dues. During Coach Johnson's career, he has coached/mentored hundreds of successful players. More than 20 of his former players have gone to the NFL-several have made Pro Bowl's and played in Super Bowls. As impressive as his coaching resume is, what's more impressive is the way Coach Johnson lives his life off the field. He's been married for "twenty-one years in a row" (as he loves to say) and has raised three beautiful children. In, We on Fries, Coach Johnson recounts being unemployed after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans to dealing with the pain of losing a child. Through it all, he's never lost his faith, focus, or compromised his values. Coach Johnson's hope is that everyone who reads this book will walk away feeling inspired and more determined to accomplish their goals on and off the field. As Coach Johnson would say: "We're not worried about what they're doing over there with the buns and the meat, we're focused on our responsibilities...we on fries."
