Where gardens fill the summer breeze with the scents of their floral displays, sounds idyllic don't you think? Our heroine Mrs Quillenore liked to think so, a place for everything and everything in its place.

Everyone in the sleepy village knew that dear Mrs Quillenore could be, well, a little prickly at times, which is understandable considering that she's a hedgehog! And the one thing that ground her gears to dust the most was the tranquillity that we hear about being shattered in any way.

And that's where our story begins when Old Sampson, Mrs Quillenore's neighbour and long-term friend sells his cottage to Daphne Grimshaw, a ruthless canine property developer, whose plans spell disaster for not only Mrs Quillenore but the entirety of Paddledown.
