Virginia Poetry 2025

The Poetry Society of Virginia is a dedicated nonprofit organization advancing poetry across our great state and beyond. It is the oldest poetry society in Virginia, founded in May, 1923. We are building a vibrant and inclusive poetic community, where poetry thrives as a bridge between individuals, communities, institutions, and cultures. Our mission is to cultivate the writing and enjoyment of poetry through a wide range of literary programs, events, and resources from regions across Virginia.

Each year, The Poetry Society of Virginia sponsors a series of contests which span a variety of categories. This is the anthology, featuring 52 first and 2nd Prize poems from 26 categories.
