V. S. Naipaul : Paradox of Diaspora and Other Essays

This is a volume of five critical essays on V. S. Naipaul presented as seminar papers and journal articles before. The first essay "V. S. Naipaul: A Departure from Calibanism" tries to delineate Naipaul as a distinct artist from other post-colonial writers. The second "Diaspora and Aesthetic Reception" tries to explore treatment of Diasporic subject in Naipaul in comparison to other writers. The third "Diasporic Gendre: Constitution of Gendre Role in V.S.Naipaul" attempts to explore different conditions for the formation of gender role in a Diasporic situation in Naipaul. The fourth "Paradox of Diaspora" explores the different dimensions of anxieties of Diaspora in Naipaul and the fifth " 'Non-seeing' Syndrome and Narration" historicizes the romanticism of protagonists in the fictions of Naipaul that cover India.
