Unrequited Love & Sweet Revenge

I've come before the court

to present my case-

the case in which he

left me there to die

in the frozen Winter Wonderland,

when the snow

covered the Earth

and white stained crimson red

from where he stabbed me

directly in the heart.

Maybe, Judge, you'll ask

why I didn't have the urge

to run away when things

started going downhill,

why I allowed this man to

mistreat me for as long as I did,

despite knowing who and what he is,

knowing that he is nothing more

than a monster lurking the shadows.

In debriefing, I present to you

the case that I was misled, abused,

and used for all the things that

he wanted from a woman,

but thought he would get away with it

if he chose me as his victim instead.

Let me state here clearly that this

was never about my life, which he never cared about,

but was instead all about him-

what he could get from me,

what he could take from me,

what he could drive me to be-

as well as how he could stay here,

how he could live with friends near,

how he could live without fear.

You see, Judge, this man is a parasite,

a life-sucking creature that left me dead

in the middle of winter's icy roads,

a body dropped off on the highway,

a pure victim of the crimes he's committed.

But somehow, someway,

he still has me convinced that it's

all my fault,

making me believe that if I hadn't

done this or done that,

maybe I would still be alive to tell the tale;

but that's the thing-I am alive,

and I'm here to tell my story.

Yet somehow he has me convinced

that I'm the one who should be put on trial.
