I've always been fascinated by history-what some might call a "history wonk." But more than just the facts and dates, I love exploring the great What Ifs of history. What if the South had won the Civil War? What if the American Navy had lost the Battle of Midway? What if the USSR hadn't pulled its missiles out of Cuba? Or what if D-Day had failed? Speculative history fascinates me because it forces us to confront how close we may have come to drastically different realities.
