Things We Survive

Following a day of watching my grand babies play at the beach, writing this book became so clear. It wasn't just for me but for the generations that came after me. Sharing my story may focus on history but it is the future I hope to change. Abuse and trauma hadn't just been part of my life, but it had already touched the lives of both my daughters (nearly killing one). Somehow, I needed to find a way to be sure it did not touch my grand babies. If by sharing the history of abuse that had already transpired, by focusing on the warning signs, by acknowledging the types of abuse, by reliving the details and their triggers then my story can change more lives than just my families.
