Theologiegeschichte als Dogmatik. Eine Dogmatik aus theologiegeschichtlichen Aufsätzen

Hier wird eine Dogmatik aufgebaut in Einzelstudien zu bestimmten Themen und Texten der Theologiegeschichte: John Henry Newman, Tertullian, Luther, Melanchthon, Origenes, Paul Gerhardt, Calvin, Augustinus, Hans Urs von Balthasar, Dante, das Dies irae usw.

In solchen Punktbohrungen wird die Aussage in der geschichtliche Situation genau erarbeitet, in welcher bestimmte Einsichten zustande kamen; zugleich wird der situationenübergreifende Zusammenhang sichtbar, in dem diese historischen Texte ein bestimmtes dogmatisches Lehrstück beleuchten und sich zu einem Ganzen fügen. Eine knappe Dogmatik in Thesen zeigt am Schluß, auf welcher Grundlage diese Einzelstudien zu verstehen sind.

In this work a dogmatics will be developed through individual studies addressing specific topics and texts in the history of theology: John Henry Newman, Tertullian, Luther, Melanchthon, Origen, Paul Gerhardt, Calvin, Augustine, Hans Urs von Balthasar, Dante, the Dies irae, and so forth.

In these "localized drillings" the formulation will be carefully worked out in the concrete historic situation in which the specific insights arose. At the same time, the pattern encompassing the different situations will become visible, the pattern in which these historic texts shed light on a specific dogmatic work and converge into a whole. At the end, a short dogmatics formulated in theses shows the foundation upon which the individual studies are to be understood.
