This was a time when 18 year olds could afford to live on their own.  You could learn on the job vs. being forced to have a college degree to hold that same job.  Women's roles changed as they were first given the option of working and later forced into the work place when men were no longer paid enough to support a wife and family.  This was a time young men worried about having a low draft number and students protested wars.  The save the planet movement added wildlife protections, cleaned up air and water and recycling started. 

 

You have seen photos or heard stories, but now you can choose a date or year and really see what was going on.  Looking back into time can be fun.  You may be one of the millions still enjoying black and white reruns of television shows made during this time.  You may be enjoying seeing later television shows and movies where the story lines are set in this time period.
