Mary grew up in the remote southwest of Zimbabwe and started her life's education late. She had a sheltered childhood and no formal education, but she's bright and courageous. What can hold her back?



Robert Mugabe's Zimbabwe is no place for the vulnerable, but Mary doesn't see herself in that category. Her courage and initiative make her both enemies and admirers. She is naïve, but determined and ambitious. Mary is gentle but not someone to cross, or so the rumours have it.
