In Provincetown, former Boston cop David Sinclair finds himself entangled in a haunting mystery beneath the waves. After being cast out and corroded by truth and salt, David searches for Clara Voss, an oceanographer who vanished to protect her otherworldly discoveries. Her cryptic journals speak of sentient currents, disappearing women turned into coral reefs, and an ancient mask imbued with the abyss's memory. As David dons the cursed mask and its spiral scars claim him, he uncovers a town steeped in corruption-mayoral plots to bury the sea, doctors trafficking opioids, and fishermen whispering of Clara's ghost dancing with octopuses in the storm.

Haunted by the Watchers-coral-human hybrids who call him to witness the ocean's buried truths-David teeters on the edge of transformation. Children with glowing eyes murmur secrets underwater, and the lighthouse sends signals only he can decode. Clara is not dead; she has become the tides themselves, a vengeful oceanic mind. As barges prepare to poison the sea, David must choose between his humanity and becoming the ocean's final defender: a creature of flesh, shell, and sorrow. In the end, he realizes Clara's final message-the sea does not forgive; it remembers everything.
