The Visitation and Other Biblical Poetry

These poems are about people in the Christian scriptures into whose lives God crashes. Meet Mary, Joseph, Mary Magdalene and others for the first time in their own context: first century; in a tiny part of the Roman Empire; a culture where women and children are owned by the men to whom they're attached; where women found pregnant outside of marriage are stoned to death. Participate with them as they weigh the dangerous roles God presents to them. And perhaps encounter the God who calls them out of a comfortable life.
