This work was composed in response to a request for clarification regarding specific legal matters in which the esteemed Shaykh al-Tijani-may Allah be pleased with him-departed from the established positions of the Maliki school.

Although he adhered to the Maliki madhhab from an early age and was recognized as one of its foremost authorities-through his prolific authorship, legal commentaries, and abridgments-his legal approach underwent a notable expansion.

His fatwas reflected a comprehensive engagement with all schools of Islamic law, guided by a commitment to the truth irrespective of its source.

This treatise is grounded in the annotations of the distinguished scholar Shaykh Ahmad Sukayrij, who identified ten key issues on which the Shaykh, may Allah be pleased with him, diverged from Maliki legal doctrine. It seeks to document these points of departure with precision and clarity, contributing to a broader understanding of his legal methodology.
