A chance meeting with investigative journalist Phillipa Phapetis, who Stephen Booth must destroy before she exposes his corrupt dealings, draws Danny into Booth's web of Europe-wide corruption and blackmail.

When Phillipa's source is found tortured and murdered, it looks like Phapetis is next.

Danny gets her to meet in Paris with veteran French journalist Jaques-Victor Billaud, who has been investigating Booth's links to shadowy European crime boss Walter Samsel.

Tracked by the violently vengeful Detective Inspector Trevor Halland and hunted by Walter Samsel's killers, Danny must single-handedly protect Phillipa and Jaques-Victor as they finally unravel the source of Booth's power.
