I was never taught finance: saving, investing, protecting wealth. The education system failed to teach me, and my kids, how to manage money. Luckily, I have always been a saver, but I knew nothing about investing; investing was not for the likes of me - except luckily through my pension pot and later an ISA. In my pursuit to understand investing, I found 3 simple steps to becoming wealthy that I wanted to pass on to my children. This was the genesis of my book. Three years ago, at the age of 52, I was made redundant. Not knowing if I would be able to get another job, or whether I actually wanted one, I decided to find out whether my nest egg would be enough to live on, indefinitely. This was the start of my financial journey.I knew how to save, but I was afraid to tackle investing on my own.
