The Rough Ascent

"After surfacing from an underground vault constructed centuries ago to protect people from nuclear war, Ford, completely new to the above-ground world, meets Sabrina, a girl living in a small, starving town isolated in the middle of the post-apocalyptic wasteland. Once he has learnt the basics of his new existence, Ford's curiosity blossoms into a ravenous desire to learn more; specifically, the meaning of life. Inspired by the enticing blue mountains that sit in the distance across the barren wasteland and what may lay on the other side, Ford and Sabrina set off on a journey in search of the meaning and the answers." An exploration of the wide variety of contemporary and historic explanations of the meaning of life, based on Plato's Allegory of the Cave.
