The Role of the Consignee

The present work focuses on the role of the consignee in the transport of the Diambogne ship. The Diambogne provides the Dakar-Ziguinchor link. In addition to land transport, this boat also facilitates the movement of people between the city of Ziguinchor and Dakar.The company that manages the boat in Dakar and Ziguinchor is the Consortium Sénégalais d'Activités Maritimes (COSAMA). It provides a public service mission of maritime transport of passengers and goods for the territorial continuity on the maritime link Dakar-Zziguinchor. This mission was entrusted to it by the State in the framework of two instruments signed on January 2, 2008, namely: a Convention of Concession of the rights of management and exploitation of the Dakar-Ziguinchor maritime line, and a contract of exploitation of the ships Aline Sitoé Diatta, Aguene and Diambogne.
