The River Waits

Jack is the latest victim of the school bully 'Tyson The Tank.' In spite of the help of his best friend Noah, Jack is forced to rely on his own unsuspected well of strength that changes his and his family's life forever. Through this discovery he releases his estranged father Jim from his years of grief and remorse after Jack's brother Cameron is killed in a car accident when their father was driving them home. In the climatic and cathartic final scene of the novel Jack places his life at risk when he overcomes his hatred and fear of Tyson by by saving Tyson from drowning in the river where he was lured by the now murderous Tyson whose rage has since escalated out of control. This powerful and uplifting novel will appeal to the young adult reader and also adults showing as it does that it is love not hate that can transform all of us.
