The text commentary identifies relevant photos with background history and unravels the interlocking waterways' intricate nature and the river's main features, including Locks, of which fourteen throughout the book, weirs and many more typical water features. The book is a coffee table book and not a guide or travel book, to be enjoyed just by looking at the photos or following the journey with the text. It is a book that can be picked up and opened at any page and enjoyed.
