In a post-apocalyptic world run by an Empire of vampires, a human resistance known as the Band roam the countryside on a mission to liberate mankind. Among the rescued is Kassian, a blind boy with a dark past. Innocent victim though he may seem, the young man has a dangerous secret sure to bring the Band to ruin. Meanwhile Lucian, the sole vampire in the resistance and Kassian's declared caretaker, hides a blurred past and an agenda of his own.
