The Ostrich Jockey

This is the extraordinary, but true, story of a boy called John Pegotty who was born in Ireland but was very small for his age.Because of this, he ended up having to do some dirty jobs, resulting in him being very naughty in revenge.

As a result, he was sent to South Africa for his crimes. There he met and rode Ostriches as a jockey. But old habits die hard, as they say, and he committed crimes again, ending up with him being sent to Australia.

There he met up with an old acquaintance, a feral Ostrich, and on its back became an infamous bushranger.
