The New Wineskin of Children's and Youth Ministry

Anyone who is halfway observant can see a lack of spiritual maturity and development in most of today's Christian children and youth, and we should be asking why. Unfortunately, we have come to accept this as normal.

If we are honest with ourselves, we have to admit there is little true discipleship taking place among children or youth in most of our churches today. Is it possible we have been giving them a watered-down gospel that leaves them disinterested and bored with the things of God?

Most of us have only seen these age groups after the flesh and not after the spirit. As a result, we have not truly equipped them to walk in the power of the Spirit. We are in danger of losing them from the body of Christ because we have given them nothing to sink their spiritual teeth into. For much too long, we have continued to operate under old wineskins of children's and youth ministry.

What do we need to change in our approach that will excite and challenge them to take their places with us shoulder to shoulder in the army of God? What is the New Wineskin that will capture their hearts making them hungry to walk in Kingdom power and authority? That's what we will explore in the pages of this book.
