She was the latest in technology and the glory of British ocean liners. She had the opulence of a first line ship and boasted of the first swimming pool, Turkish bath and gymnasium on the high seas. And they boasted it was unsinkable. Sixteen separate compartments allowed the ship to float if any two were breached. Or, under certain circumstances, three. But not five. So it sank. For years thereafter, many felt that it was hubris that sank her. Pride. It was pride, yes. And, of course, the mummy.
