The legal system and economic development in black Africa

The question to be answered when assessing the effectiveness of a legal system is whether the effects observed match the goals pursued by the legislator in the context of economic development. The legal system thus plays a fundamental role in the economic development of African nations. It manifests itself in planning, in setting the organizational principles of the national economy, and in determining the actions of economic players. The law also plays a part in regulating the main areas of economic activity, setting the principles for proactive action, and creating and determining the scope of activity and procedure of internal and external control bodies. The national economies of French-speaking African states are organized with the help of legal instruments. In almost all cases, these legal instruments are indispensable for determining and implementing economic development policies. It is therefore in the interest of French-speaking African states to ensure effective control of economic sectors for their economic development.
