"The Laura Nyro That I Knew: Stories from Bandmates and Friends" is just that, a set of interviews from those who surrounded her in the studio and on the stage. Many of them first appeared in the book "Laura Nyro: Lyrics & Reminiscences," though often in an abbreviated form. For the first time ever in print, we include a transcription of Laura's "self interview." Her professed purpose for this autobiographical interview was to express the meaning of music in her life.
