The Lady of Pemberley Place

It's 1830 Europe. It's a time of revolutions, resolutions, and romanticism. A time when Conservatives and Liberals still feud over laws and taxation. A time when Charles X of France, has his head on the chopping block. It is also a time when humanity clung to the skirts of romanticism as an escape from the cruel realism associated with war. Lady Darby Pemberley Lady Darby Pemberley is the daughter of the current Duke of Pemberley. She fancies politics and a good mystery. She defies logic, law, and the notion of conformity. Not quite a romantic at heart, but a sympathizer of romanticism; Eugene Delacroix, Richard Parks Bonington, and Leonardo Da Vinci are household names. Lord Scott (Scotty) Atwell Scotty only has eyes for his best friend and partner in crime, Lady Darby Pemberley. He's home from the army and using his father's ties to secure a seat in parliament. His plans to come home and sweep Darby off her feet are foiled when he's drawn into a deadly scheme. The ones pulling the strings have threatened the life of the woman he loves and means to marry should he not go along with their plan. Once again, Scotty needs Darby's sleuthing skills and bloodhound like senses to get him out of a forced marriage to a girl named Prim Rose who claims she's pregnant with his heir. The mischief of Scotty & Darby There's something amiss and Darby's sleuthing nerves are pulsating. Just when Darby thinks she's caught onto bride-to-be, Prim Rose's game, she's murdered. Now Darby and Scotty are dead center to the Investigation and all evidence a determined Detective Inspector has uncovered says they're guilty as sin. Bad has officially gone to worse. The wedding plans may have been foiled but now they have bigger issues to contend with. They not only have to prove their innocence but catch a killer before they kill again.
