The Intricacy of Simplicity

The Intricacy of Simplicity is a story of a young child's wandering-about in the existence and philosophies of life, questioning and pondering among varied realities. It is artistically designed to encourage imaginative wonder in an adult-based philosophical context. Through full page color illustrations and creative text formatting, this book is a work of art. Intended for adult readers, yet open to all.

The novelette is structured in evolving layers. The child-like illustrations are juxtaposed with adult philosophical contexts that create a visual and conceptual tension. The intentional and somewhat unconventional text formatting serves to highlight a deeper narrative embedded within the words themselves. The deliberate integration of what may be perceived as "grammatically incorrect" writing encourages the reader to actively engage their imagination, prompting pauses and reflections within the "in-between spaces" of the narrative.

Creating the book has been a journey of self-discovery full of duality. Leading to a realization of how little I know about self, mine and others; and the diverse reality of the world in whole. This project has become, for me, a desire to help understand and grow [my]self into a joined idea of wonder and empathy. I am grateful for the chance to share this with any and all. With a great thank you to any that dive into this story, I wish all a wonderful wandering and exploration along their adventure.
