Detective Matt Dales has Post-Traumatic Stress "flashbacks" of future events. During his voyage to a new life in the Sirius Colonies, an accident exposed Matt's unprotected brain to the "Mind Rip"; the reality of FTL physics where time and space simultaneously expand and collide. Instead of destroying his mind, however, he suppressed the memories. They now lay hidden deep in his subconscious threatening at all times to break free.
