A visionary, post-apocalyptic poem about the medieval city of Chronopolis, its clock towers and its marketplace for the trading of time, where wealthy buyers purchase more and better time for themselves and their loved ones while the poor sell their time in an effort to better themselves. Written in an iambic pentameter in imitation of the terza rima of Dante's Divine Comedy, the six-canto poem, attributed to the early Renaissance writer Auctor Ignotus, raises serious philosophical questions about human technology and the meaning of love.
