Around 100 AD, Pliny the Younger wrote a famous ghost story featuring a spirit wrapped in chains, a haunted house, and a curse lifted as the poor ghost's bones were given a

proper burial. Since then, ghost stories have been a constant staple, told and retold by every culture through the ages.

Emby Press welcomes you to a new collection of ghostly tales featuring some of the greatest writers in history: Algernon Blackwood, Edith Wharton and Bram Stoker. And in between those tales are woven six by modern writers, all keeping to the classic form that has made this subgenre of literature so beloved.
