The Gate Contained

The Gate Contained is a unique collaboration between a poet and a photographer. Eleven photographs paired with eleven sonnets create an immersive experience that is more than the sum of the individual components. These pairings are followed by meditations by both artists on artistic creation.

About the photographer

Michael Antman is a former senior marketing executive, an urban photographer, a theatre and book critic, and the author of the novels Everything Solid Has a Shadow and Cherry Whip and the memoir Searching for the Seagull Motel. He is the co-author with Christopher Guerin of the poetry and photography collaboration The Gate Contained.

He is a two-time finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Nona Balakian Award for Excellence in Reviewing. His photography can be found on Instagram @michaelantman, and his author's website is michaelantman dot com.
