The Future is Brief collection of scifaiku and micropoetry

Each scifaiku in The Future is Brief is an arrival at a pocket universe that is larger on the inside than it is on the outside. We are invited to enter and adjust our altered sight to apprehend the new worldviews offered by these micro poem-tales. Like fingering stringed pearls, we feel the polish of smoothed nacre. Our geologic past, our psychic peregrinations, our shifting relationship to each other, and our shared and disjunctive realities are explored with humor and passion on this many-stationed journey.  And, as with all the best creating in the realm of the speculative, after we smile or sigh, we feel the electric sting of incisive indictment, gain some new insights, revealing unexamined bits of our shared construct, a gift of contemplative enjoyment.

Jean-Paul Garnier's The Future is Brief is a multiverse of fantastic futuristic scifaiku, alternately tinged with humor, irony, and great insight of the past, present, and future. Each poem should be slowly savored and deeply contemplated, for they are encapsulated stories in themselves. A wonderfully thoughtful, meditative read.

Many of Jean-Paul's haiku build self-contained, miniature worlds. Through a ripple effect, others carry the reader's thoughts far outward from their brief three lines.
