The Fabulous Kangaroos

New York City 1981 - New York City as seen through a Velvet-Underground and Lou Reed obsessed mindset - belonging to an idealistic young guy - in fact, an extremely idealistic young guy - named Ethan St. Cyr. Ethan's beatnik-like life-style takes a heavy-weight turn when he meets and falls in love with a kindred young struggling artist: Roxy Carr - a beguiling and completely original personality - and dedicated to preserving the latter. They meet by chance in a grade-B Lower Manhattan office building - where they both hold temporary NYC civil-service jobs, as a stop-gap fix to cover living experiences. The Fabulous Kangaroos follows the history of their earnest - but by no means silky smooth - girl-boy fling as it winds through New York City in 1981.

Their Love Story starts on a very positive footing in the early weeks. And why not?? Ethan finds in Roxy somebody whose originality meets his tough ideals of rejecting the superficial mainstream society. And Roxy finds in Ethan somebody who sincerely worships the full spectrum of her always-evolving original life style. From that auspicious beginning - they make every sincere effort to move their beguiling interpersonal "chemistry" forward while, at the same time, seeking to see the full expression of their respective ideals.
