Beskrivelse
The current crisis, which affects us all, is not due to a feeling of being unable to move forward; on the contrary, we feel more capable than ever. The problem is that we have come up against an insurmountable wall: the State.
History shows us that every society eventually creates an "entity" with the na?ve hope that it will provide happiness and well-being. Yet, as soon as it is created, the State climbs upon Society, and Society ends up existing solely to sustain it. The people become the food of an insatiable monster, and social life falls into a condition of servitude: all interest in economic, cultural, moral, or spiritual effort disappears.
Hence the great crisis we now endure: Society has lost the vital stimulus that gave it life-freedom.
We have strayed from those essential ideas upon which European civilization was founded. For the great apostles of liberty, this word meant freedom from coercion, freedom from arbitrary power, and the removal of any bonds that might prevent the individual from exercising free choice. Today, however, we find ourselves in the grip of an insatiable "big bad wolf" that keeps us bound hand and foot. If we were only a little more dignified and intelligent, we would long ago have stopped it in its tracks.
This book seeks to show the reader how and why we have reached this point, and what we can do to free ourselves from the monster's claws.
