How does one approach the delicate subject of assassination, at least, the death of the Holy Father at the request of a priest? Jewyl, mercenary-thief and rightful heir to the lost Realm of Shiyula has to decide who she can trust beyond her life-long companion, Chardo. The Holy Father of Hagontha, Goddess of Chaos, is revered by the citizens of the three kingdoms that once made up the Realm of Shiyula. Jewyl, also known as The Emerald, is the granddaughter of the last king to rule the realm. As Jewyl searches for the Sword of Shiyula which was lost when the realm fell, she must deal with friends, foes, lovers, and traitors. Jewyl must make sense of the chaos to use to her advantage, but can she?
