In The Dimbo Patrol by John Klawitter, Jack. Beale, a former UCLA student, enlisted to fight in the Vietnam war voluntarily. He soon meets unlikely heroes Charles Magnolia, Larky Larkspin, and Mad Denny Haller, and together they become The Dimbo Patrol. The four friends face the violence, death, and horrors of the Vietnam war together and soon discover the sickening reality that the media and politicians hide from the public.



As the four young men battle to remain sane in a situation many will not survive, they each have their own demons and nightmares to overcome. But through it all, they form a friendship and bond that will never die.
