The Dahran Way

Life is never what it seems. Sir Jonathan Martin holds down an outwardly humdrum banking job in the Sheikdom of Dahra. From day one, his other work and lifestyle have been shrouded in secrecy and not at all, as it seems on the surface. This is part of his story, a narration of significant events as they happened to him. In a word, Jonathan Martin's story is a series of adventures in the ownership of slaves, about which the world is not supposed to know. Many of these events are metaphors for the twists and turns of modern life. At one and the same time, Jonathan Martin can be regarded as both a hero and a villain. The choice lies in the eye of the discerning reader.
