The China Youth Corps in Taiwan

As Taiwan has changed from a traditional peasant society into a very modern one, the political and educational institutions have had to adapt. With economic affluence, the people demand democracy and openness. The younger generation, too, has new expectations that contrast sharply with older ways. This book tells how the China Youth Corps (CYC) is adapting to these dramatic changes in Taiwan in order to serve the developmental needs of young people.
