The Amazon Rainforest

A rainforest by definition is tropical woodland with lush vegetation and great biological diversity. It is an ecosystem with a delicate balance of life and is home to unique and exotic organisms such as Pink Dolphins, Giant Otters, Giant Turtles and Piranhas. The Amazon River affects the rainforest because the plants need the river The indigenous people who live in the raiforest also need the river's water to sustain their livelihood. Thanks to the river, the Amazon rainforest is home to many different life forms including human beings. There are many groups of tribal people living in the Amazon rainforest, including the Yanomani and the Ashanikas who live off of what the forest can provide for them.
