The chapters cover a range of education policy issues including the requirement that English schools promote “British values”, liberal civic education, pluralist liberalism, religious education, harmful student speech and classroom discourse and discussion. Significant attention is paid to disputes in the UK and the USA over whether schools should teach positive attitudes towards LGBTQ+ people.
